Women's Pre-Shavuot Cinnamon Bun Baking Event

Join the women of J-HYPE and The Meyerland Minyan Synagogue for a really fun and spirited pre-Shavuot cinnamon bun baking event together with Giti Fredman of Just Bake It!

Each participant will be getting their very own kit and learning first hand how to make delicious cinnamon buns just in time for Shavuot.

 WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION Cinnamon Buns are a sticky, sweet brunch and all-time-favorite pastry. Learn to create some on your own in this workshop. Nothing is quite as good as cinnamon buns straight out of the oven!

Each workshop seat purchased includes a chef-prepared kit with all the DRY ingredients you will need. Each kit contains ingredients for one 9x13 pan of cinnamon buns.

What will you learn to make?

During the workshop, you’ll learn the step-by-step process to mix, knead, roll out, fill and slice a pan of cinnamon buns. Before the workshop, you’ll receive the wet ingredients and kitchen equipment you’ll need. This will be kept as simple as possible, and Chef Giti will suggest substitutions where doable.

How long will the workshop last?

The workshop will last up to 90 minutes. This does not include baking time. During the workshop, there will be plenty of time to ask questions. While the dough rises, Chef Giti will conduct games.

Where will the workshop be held?

In the social hall of The Meyerland Minyan Synagogue. 

You will be able to see Chef Giti and, if you like, ask questions and show what you’re doing too.

Giti Fredman has been baking since she was eight years old.

As a teenager, she loved to bake so much that her principal warned that she needed to put away her rolling pin and focus on school work. Giti’s mom even hid her mixer, but nothing could stand between this fiery young woman and her passion. Eight years later that very same principal ordered a cake from Giti’s first boutique bake shop for her daughter’s birthday.

Giti has lived in cities around the world and everywhere she goes her baked goods are in high-demand. But more than even baking for people, Giti loves baking with people.

Giti’s baking workshops have been attended by thousands of people. You would be surprised how combining flour, sugar and eggs brings people together in a magical way. When the pandemic hit, Giti moved her workshops online, which also provided some much-kneaded connection during a difficult time.

Giti has now opened her kitchen to everyone with her new business, Just Bake It! Giti is now bringing these powerful moments to even more people.

At a time when many of us feel more remote and disconnected than ever, Giti’s mission is to bring people together and bake delicious memories.
